Cyber Monday and Black Friday

The Black Friday to Cyber Monday weekend is upon us! Shopping has been a growing hobby for most people nowadays. People like to buy things specially when the holidays are coming up. Buying gifts for family and friends and of course yourself has never been better thanks to the advent of the internet. You can now find discounts with just a few clicks on your phone or PC.

Of course visiting actual stores still has it’s thrills. Trying on the clothes and touching the merchandise gives you a sense of happiness. And best of all, sale days can make shop like a king but spend money like a frugal granny.

My favourite websites for finding all the best cyber monday and black friday deals  in the UK is here:

And for for the US try this one:

What is Black Friday and Cyber Monday?

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are the two greatest shoppings days of the year. These days allow you to get a ton of discounts right before Christmas. You can find shops and retailers offering discounts for up to 80% off. There are also clearance sales everywhere.

Black Friday is the day right after Thanksgiving. This is the day where people start shopping for presents for kids, girlfriends, boyfriends, spouses, family, friends and pets. Stores would open as early as 4AM in some places. Some open at 5AM or 6AM. Long lines are expected. Be ready to charge into a crowd of people.

Sales normally continue on for the weekend but shopping on Black Friday itself is a must if you want to go to brick and mortar stores because you may end up with nothing come Saturday.

Cyber Monday on the other hand is for those who want to avoid the crowds. It is for people who are in the office or at home and want to do a good shopping trip without dealing with a throng of people. You need to have enough on your credit card if you wish to shop on this day.

How to Make the Most of Black Friday

Black Friday gives you great deals for almost anything you can think of. You can score deals on big TVs, new computers, gadgets, gaming consoles, clothes – well anything you can think of. Shops look forward to this day because they can push a lot of products and stocks out.

To make the most of your Black Friday, you must be armed with the knowledge of how to deal with this day.

Make a List

Before Black Friday hits, make a list. Write the name of the things that you need and the shops where you can find them so you can avoid being distracted by the next shiny thing. Stick to your list to avoid overspending.

Wake Up Early

Wake up early so you can start early. As the day progresses, more and more shoppers come. You may lose those PlayStation consoles if you come to the stores late. So the night before, eat a light Thankgiving dinner and avoid chugging too much alcohol so you won’t have a hang over the next day.

Wear Comfy Shoes

I promise you, you’ll be on your feet the whole day so ditch the heels or boots or anything uncomfortable. You need to have sneakers on so you can move easily. So people can be seen running on Black Friday so be prepared to do so.

Bring a Drink

You’ll need to stay hydrated throughout the day so bring a tumbler of water. Avoid things that will give you an upset stomach or something that will make you pee a lot. Bring some light snacks with you so that you can snack and feel energized as you shop.

Know Which Shop Has the Thing That You Want

Ask the sales people. Do your homework. Window shop before hand. You need to do this so you won’t be going back and forth from store to store.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday Coupons

Some shops honour coupons even on Black Friday. Download and print the coupons beforehand so you can be ready.

Never fight over gifts

Getting your hands on that merchandise is never worth getting arrested. Never fight with people just for a TV.

Shop Online on Cyber Monday

Shopping online helps you reduce the risk of getting into crowds and feeling tired all day. You spend two hours online and be done with it as compared of to walking around for twelve hours.

Prepping for Cyber Monday

Cyber Monday has been known to be an ultimate online shoppinig day. You can do your whole Christmas shopping right in front of your computer without any sweat. Of course you may not get your orders real time but many shops now offer next day or even same day delivery. Some shops may deliver after a few days but that’s ok compared to being squashed by hundreds of shoppers in stores.

Make Sure Your Card has Credit

You don’t want your purchases to be declined right? So better be prepared. Pay for the pending balances on your card so you will have enough credit limit to put in your purchases.

Avoid Scams and Viruses

Make sure your PC has an antivirus program to avoid catching any unwanted installations on your computer. Check if the sites you go to are trusted before clicking. You need to do this to avoid phishing and spyware getting into your phone or PC.

Sign Up to Cyber Monday Deals Emails

Most websites send messages via emai or post info on their social media accounts. So better follow these pages online and sign up to their newsletters so you can get the best deals.

Watch All In One Sites

There are sites out there made for shoppers like us that put all the shops together. They just make life easier by finding the best deals online. This is how you can save lots of time. Bonus points on discount codes they put up every now and then.

Set a Spending Limit

Don’t go overboard with clicking and shopping at every page or site out there. You may end up with more purchases than you want. Be careful not to overspend because you might end up broke after Cyber Monday.

Buy the Important Stuff First

Buy the gifts for family before splurging on additional stuff. Don’t buy on a whim. Try to treat yourself but not too much.

Be Wise

I know I said for you to set a limit but if you ever see anything that you think you will never see ever and you have the budget for it, then yes buy it. You might have been thinking of traveling for a while now but never have had the opportunity to do so, many travel sites offer deals on Cyber Monday, so grab it.

Making the most on Black Friday and Cyber Monday comes down to four words: be a smart shopper! So be ready for the shopping spree and happy holidays to you!
